Would Definitely Stay Again at The Inn at Venice Beach
Very clean, comfortable and well-maintained. Hotel is in a nice area and my wife and I walked to restaurants and the beach. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The place is bright and cheery. The big mosaic mermaid on the outside of the building is really cool. The continental breakfast was really nice with alot of selections. I can’t think of any reasons why I would not return. I’m going to have to order one of their bathrobes with the mermaid logo on it .

A gentle introduction to LA
We were visiting LA for the first time, hoping to combine a trip to a family wedding with a few days surfing and sight-seeing. The Inn at Venice Beach proved to be ideal, situated just a few miles from the airport and a couple hundred metres from the beach. Off-street parking at a reasonable daily rate was a definite advantage in this car dominated city. Our room was modest but comfortable, thoroughly cleaned and maintained each morning. Air-conditioning was essential, even at the end of October, and internet access was reliable. A substantial range of cereals, pastries and bagels were available for breakfast, eaten in an attractive inner courtyard. The immediate area has many small restaurants and bars, with surf board rental and other shops. It raised no eyebrows to walk from the hotel to the beach in wetsuit with surfboard. The beautiful Venice canals are immediately adjacent to the hotel and are a pleasant place to stroll. The very extensive road system made it easy, if initially a bit scary, to drive along the coast to Santa Monica and Malibu and also to venture further into the city. Sat Nav essential though. The hotel management were courteous and helpful, from providng a parking space for visitors to loaning a screwdriver for surfboard fins.
October on Venice beach - still warm (if not hot) by UK standards, but beaches are largely empty.
