Used to be classy 20 years ago
As we got a good deal through Expedia, my disappointment was not too big. However, the overall condition of this hotel does not justify the prices. We had a room facing the car park and entrance - of course no double-glazed windows. We could here people upstairs walking about. No, there are other hotels out there that offer more for less. This hotel is in desperate need of a proper renovation.

Haven of doilies and plastic flowers
It would take very little to make this hotel a lovely place to stay. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. What let it down was the urgent need to wash or ideally bin every net curtain, curtain, doiley and plastic flower in the place. These were black with dust and gave the place a musty, dusty feel. Other than these the hotel is clean, so they are letting the hotel down big time.
Lovely feature which I’ve seen nowhere else - a free of charge ’Quick and Early’ breakfast served in your room if you need to be up and out before the normal breakfast time - let down by the fact that it was delivered to the wrong room!

great stay in torquay
the staff at the grosvenor very welcoming & helpful. room very clean,quiet,roomy plenty hot water. restaurant clean ample portions of food staff helpful. evening entertainment enjoyable,lounge & bar nice and relaxing. parking excellent and plenty of it.
