Something different
The Il Mirto B and B is a quarter of an hour’s walk from the train station at Sant’Agnello,and 5 minutes from Sorrento by train. The hotel is 400 years old and in the foothills of the Latteran mountains; the views from our room and our private terrace were superb. The furnishings are old-fashioned but comfortable, and the room was kept clean. Breakfast was a basic continental affair, but we had home-made bread and cakes each morning. The family were welcoming but left you to enjoy the peace of the location.
Traveller's tip
The bus from the airport to Sant’Agnello is 10 euros and excellent. The Amalfi Drive from Sorrento train station is 6 euros on the local bus and is excellent value and worthwhile. The train is worth using for trips through to Naples, such as Pompeii. Taxis are very expensive. Hotel to the town is 15 minute walk via road and alleyways if you are fit.
