Light industrial location but very convenient
Situated close to a rather unattractive road and in the scruffy part of Certaldo, the hotel is never-the-less one that i would heartily recommend and definately return to. The railway staition is within 7 mins walk with trains to Florence-1hr and Sienna-40mins. The town has everything you might need including some great, reasonably priced eateries. The hotel staff were, without exception, dedicated to good service and although there is no restaurant in the hotel the late and lavish breakfast (served till 12!) meant for us that we rarely troubled to eat lunch. The rooms (we booked a standard) were modern, quiet, light, well-decorated, scrupulously cleaned, and the beds were massive and very comfortable. Fantasticly located for drives into local hill-towns and the Chianti region.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
If you like history and pre-history, Montereggiano, a medieaval walled town, and especially Volterra with its amazing old-fashioned museum, are not to be missed.

Great Hotel and Great Location for Tuscany Trip
What makes this hotel great are its staff. From the front desk people to the breakfast staff--all where very courteous, helpful, and made the stay so pleasant. The location was great--1 hour train ride to Florence and the furthest Tuscany city we visited--Montepulciano was only 1 hour and 40 minute drive away. Rooms were keep clean and bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The shower was a bit small but fine for average sized people. Could have used a dresser for folding clothes, but nice closet with refrigerator and safe. Bed was very comfortable. Certaldo is a quaint little town with the town square a short walk from the hotel. Nice quick Cable ride up to Certaldo alto--quaint hill top part of town dating back to the 1200s. All in all a wonderful experience.

Cant fault in any way
fantastic hotel - rooms service and staff. Only drawback was that breakfast only was served in Hotel as we would have enjoyed eating there as limited Restaurants in Certaldo.
Traveller's tip
Marvellous base for travelling around Tuscany but Certldo did not have any nightlife or many Restaurants.
