The ONLY hotel you should stay in Playa del Carmen...
I’ve been to this hotel last year and was very satisfied. But I tried to be a little adventurous and tried to stay at another "well promoted hotel" nearby. BIG MISTAKE! THIS is the only hotel that’s worth the money in Playa del Carmen. I was in AQUA Cancun with my girlfriend and went down to Playa Del Carmen for a few days. Being in Magic Blue felt almost like being in a 4star hotel although it is clearly smaller. The staff is very friendly. The bellboys/securities are very accomodating as well. The rooms are immaculate. The BED, the most important factor for us, is soft and very comfortable. We set our alarms for 7am but we always end up sleeping until 10 because the beds are just that cozy. The grounds are beautifully decorated. The pool is lovely and very comfortable. The bar by the pool is inexpensive. I will not try another hotel in Playa Del Carmen besides Magic Blue. This place is the best. Take my word for it. Don’t try to save a mere $20 for similar offers nearby. You will be disappointed. MagicBlue is the ONE!
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Stay away from the rooms directly facing the entrance. We were in #43. That building is adjacent to the "busy street" and the cars/trucks make a lot of noise. Take advantage of the complementary breakfast at Ipanema’s. Very good food with excellent service. For GOOD homecooked meals, go to Restaurante BIP-BIP. Great, fresh food. Excellent service. Next door is awesome LIVE Salsa on Sundays.

Perfect for Relaxing
I loved staying at this hotel. I had my room on the 2nd story which means i had a Palapa so it was nice and spacious. The pool is perfect and the staff is very accommodating. The only thing is that the pool closes at 8, but the bar stays open. What’s nice about the pool closing early is that it lets you relax without any splashing noise. As far as the location is perfect for going out to eat and the beach.
