Menzeh Zalagh

Close proximity to Ville Nouvelle and also only 20 min walk to the Medina. Dinner was good , breakfast could be better.

Good Value

The hotel claims 4 stars, but Expedia gives 3, which is about right. Good value for the price I paid. Pleasant building and well-kept grounds. The staff have to cope with a high guest turnover as the hotel takes a lot of coach parties. The breakfast buffet was good, although the Moroccan crêpes tended to go quite quickly. The dinner buffet was not bad. My room had great views from the balcony and was spacious and well-decorated, but a little sparsely furnished. It really needed at least one proper indoor chair. The mattress on the bed was a bit saggy. The bathroom was small but adequate. Housekeeping was good and the room (and the rest of the hotel) was very clean. On my departure the concierge was singularly ineffectual in finding a taxi!

Traveller's tip on local attractions

The red petits taxi drivers did use their meters and were incredibly cheap compared to London cabs. A trip to the Roman ruins at Volubilis is well worth the effort.
