Recommended
I really liked this place. It is well located near the old town and within the old Jewish Quarter. Room was on top floor which was a bit of a hike and no lift. Staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke good English. Room was clean but if need it cleaned need to tell them. I see some criticisms of the breakfasts have been made, they are actually OK and would not let that put anyone off. Altogether I would recommend this place for location,friendliness and cleanliness. I would certainly go back there.
Traveller's tip on recreational activities
The organised tours by Cracovia Tours are good value and well organised. I took their tour to Auschwitz which altho’ grim was well done and one of the communist tours which was great.

EXCELLENT HOTEL IN EXCELLENT LOCATION
We booked the Spatz after reading excellent reviews, we were not dissapointed. The staff were very helpful and as they state there was always someone on hand if you needed anything at all. As for the breakfast, loved the fact that it was served up to 11am, no need to rush around in the morning! Always plenty of food available and the scrambled eggs were lovely. The coffee also got you off to a good start!. The location was one of the main factors for us and again it did not dissapoint, really central for all the areas we wanted to visit, plus plenty of restaurants and bars. We booked a delux room which was lovely and spacious the only down side was it was on the top floor and with no lift (which we did know about) the 71 steps (I counted them!) were hard work after a day on your feet. I would not let this deter me from booking again, I would just request a room on a lower floor next time!!.
There is a lot to see and do in Krakow, this was our 2nd visit. To get the most out of your stay, I would recommend that you check out internet sites and set yourself a ’plan your stay list’ to cover all the sites you will need at least 5days, this will allow for a little R&R time which you will need if you do end up on the top floor at the Spatz!!. The Krupnik is also a must try!!
