Fine as a last minute break
Lovely location just outside Rhodes Old City on the coast. Booked as a last minute holiday for which the hotel is ok. Outside areas great but the restaurant felt a bit like a school canteen. Wouldnt stay again in this hotel and would not include evening meal, would prefer to eat outside the hotel and experience real Greek hospitality.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
When in local cafes and restaurants, particularly in Rodes Town, stipulate the size of soft drinks when you order. Otherwise you will receive the largest lemonade at the largest price!

More Fawlty Towers than cool five star chic...!
Star ratings in Greece are open to interpretation..dont be fooled, it only relates to buildings/listed services. Service is simply not a factor. It also appears Safety standards in Greece remain low. The two pool view maisonette suites we were shown to had open staircases with no safety barrier other than a wobbly plastic hand rail in one and a plate glass divider in the other. We would not book these rooms, especially with children. The Service..not exactly with a smile, the bar staff look depressed & the A la Carte (remember this phrase as you will need it asking to pay for a real drink) restaurant, could not manage a booking of five. It was made instead for four people at 7pm (we wanted 8.30pm but this time was full), and there was no effort to make up a table for five or to ask couples to move to accommodate us. We were offered 8.30pm, or nothing..and since our youngest is 10yrs of age we went instead to the main restaurant. Drinks...yes they are included but so long as you dont mind pretend cocktails or Asti Spumante then you will be fine. The point is that they do not offer any quality wines or champagne by the glass even for the "A la carte" supplement. In the main restaurant be patient as the few staff try in vain to clear dozens of tables. The food however is very well presented & tasty. What a shame to be selling this hotel as 5* when clearly it should be an aspiring 3*.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
If you book a pool view suite make 100% sure you have one of the ground floor only Ixian Grand suites as the maisonettes on two floors are dangerous
