Hotel was OK
Limited parking; was not a problem as we arrived on a Thursday, but could be awkward if arriving Fri or Sat. Approx.3 minutes from the seafront and tram stop, (less if you walk quickly!). Owners very friendly as is their dog, some kind of terrier, I believe. Basic room, (we had the front bedroom, with a seaview). My wife noticed a little mould around the window, the wallpaper was peeling in a couple of places and there were damp marks on the ceiling. The worst thing, from our point of view, was the smell of cigarettes. The owners live downstairs and one or both smoke and this permeated the house; it may be as I do not smoke I noticed it more, but as we just wanted somewhere to sleep we did not consider any of the above to be a major problem. Kettle, tea, coffee, milk and bikkies waiting in the room on arrival. Small kettle. Filled up it was just enough, barely, for two cups. But that as there was only two of us that was OK. Breakfast was v. good the two days we were there; cereal, full English, toast, OJ, & tea or coffee. Would I go back? Probably not. The hotel was OK but as stated basic and I found the bed a little small and hard, but Im used to a king sized one! Also my wife & I tend to like to try different places. I believe that there is small bar in the hotel, but it may just be a lounge. In either case, by the time we got back at night it was closed. So, if you dont mind the smell of cigarettes & just want somewhere to crash after going out this isnt too bad.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Tram fares from the hotel to North pier were 1.50 one way. but for just over a fiver you can get a travelcard which will cover any amount of trips on the tram,(and I believe buses too), for 1 day, from Lytham St.Annes to Fleetwood. You can also get longer lasting passes, just ask the conductor.
