Boston Travelers

This hotel is old! It needs a total rehab, it is stuck in the 60’s. It is dark and not inviting at all. The bowling, driving range, movie theatre were great to have on site. Starbucks was the newest thing in the hotel and welcome.

"Good hotel in Reno if you can get a cheap rate"

The Grand Sierra at one time was a great hotel now I would say it is average. We arrived late so you can’t expect miracles. Bell service was good at the start as we got the car unloaded but they dropped the ball getting our things to our room. When I called down no one was there. Since it was 2am I went down stairs to find no one at the desk. I then went in the back found my bags and took the cart up to the room. The hotel had been refurbished not too long ok and for the most part was ok (did not seem well kept) but not nearly as nice as some of the downtown hotels in Reno at the same or lower price. The bed was fantastic though and at least you sleep well. We only ate at the cafe and the buffet. I would rate the cafe above average and the buffet good but not outstanding. Recommendation...........if you can get the room at a cheap rate it is a good buy if you don’t need to be downtown. Otherwise I would recommend the Silver Legacy or the Nugget in Sparks.

happy day

Really liked this hotel. We had so much fun just watching the dancing! Could have used some cheaper restaurant options.
