Talk about a pleasant surprise!!!

This is a former mansion which is being refurbished and you need to realise some of the rooms aren’t finished yet. But, I was very much impressed with the exceptional quality of my room which was quiet, clean, comfortable, spacious, and relaxing. I found the reception personnel were incredibly warm and friendly - and pulled it off without being obsequious. The breakfast was included in the cost - and delivered a healthy and well cooked repast.

I asked for, and fortunately received, a room which did not face onto traffic.

Have they just taken over

The room had a spider, otherwise it was OK, nothing special. The door was not fitted well enough to keep out the noise of the receptionist or the returning drunks. Breakfast and bar in hotel next door. Cooked breakfast, no choice, arrived 1 minute after order and before cereal could be eaten. No fruit, cold meat or cheese buffet. There are plenty better in this area.

A little more information would of helped

The room was great and the breakfast too. Fantastic large shower. Problem. water fine in evening, morning it was not cold, it was FREEZING. Could not put water to face. Very noisy at night. I think that might have been the water system collapsing. If so, not bad place. The bar was closed but did not realise until morning this was ajacent to another hotel and those facilities were used. Thats where breakfast was served. pound7 taxi fare to centre.
