Good bargain. I’d stay there again; saving more money for more day trips around Tuscany.

The hotel is a couple miles away from "old Florence" but bus #22 leaves every 20 minutes or so from 2 blocks away making it very easy to commute directly into the historical part of town for about a Euro each way. Nearby stores and restaurants provide food and beverage at a fraction of the cost found in the "tourist" area. It would be a benefit to speak at least a little Italian if staying here as it is located in the working part of Florence and only one staff member could speak English. Everyone, however, was friendly and helpful.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

From Florence, all Tuscany is within a short bus or train ride in all directions. And, by saving money on a clean, budget hotel like this, more $ can be used for visiting vineyards, nearby towns, and even the outstanding Cinque Terra region on the coast. After all, the hotel is just a place to crash at night.

Disappointment

On the web site this hotel looked like a good place to say for a night. But when we got there it was a huge let down. The room was large but it only had a bed and a 12 inch TV. There was nothing on the walls and the window would not open. The bed was actually two twin beds pushed together and there was a large gap between the mattresses. The bathroom was good, all the normal stuff. The hotel advertises a bar in the hotel for guests to use 24 hours a day. We checked in at 7pm and the bar was shut down and when we asked if we could get something to eat we were told they only had drinks. That was fine, so we asked where a restaurant nearby was... There were none. Also, the hotel is not located in a great part of town. All in all, it’s fine if you are looking for a one night crash pad and are familiar with europe but for a long stay or a family with children, I would go somewhere else. Plus, the price tag on the room is to high for the quality of the room.

Close to airport and reasonably priced

Hotel was modest, nothing special. Small bathroom! Apart from the one receptionist the others don’t communicate too well in English!, but you can get by. Hotel was almost half-hour bus ride from the center of Florance in rush hour. . Don’t expect much and you won’t be disappointed. Florance was brilliant! Go to the information center just across from the train station they are very helpful.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Get a 3 day pass from outside the train station which can be used on many buses. There is not much really around the hotel in terms of eating places, we struggled a bit having to go into the center
