Amazing view, great location and great price
We stayed from 6/11 - 9/11 and had a fantastic time in venice. The hotel is easy to find and a short stroll from St Marks square and the bridge of sighs. If you are looking for a traditional venetian hotel then this ticks the boxes. We were lucky enough to get room 529. A small double room but with the added bonus of a balcony with the most fantastic views over Venice (including St Marks tower). It was brilliant to wake up and view Venice every morning from our balcony. This plus the location and cost means we would be more than happy to return. Breakfast is basic continental - croissants, rolls, ham, cheese. boiled eggs, cereal. Mini bar in room but no tea/coffee making facilities. Easy to walk to all the sites. The further you wander from St Marks and Rialto the cheaper the food.
To save money in Venice you can get Pizza slices for around 2 euros to eat in the lanes.

Old World Elegance. Extremely gracious proprietors. Delightful staff. Location superb.
Lovely, serene garden in the back is a peaceful retreat. My room was facing the interior courtyard, so I didnt hear any of the boat traffic (although that would be music to my ears considering the car/urban noise Im accustomed to at home in DC).

Lots of character & Great Location: would go back
As many, I wasnt sure about this hotel due to the mix reviews, but our stay was great. This must have been a great hotel in the 60 (decor wise) but hasnt gone through any modernization since. So even though everything is so outdated (bad for some), it has lots of character(good for others). Our room was amazing, we paid regular and got windows and balconies overlooking the canal. The bathroom was in great condition, everything clean and the breakfast is continental, very very good.
