Bucharest under renovation
The hotel is very nice and the staff is lovely.Nice breakfast. They made great suggestions, arranged tours, and were incredibly helpful and sweet. However, the area that the hotel is in (as of August 09) is completely under renovation and you cant imagine the mess. The entire street in front of the hotel is ripped up and you have to pull your luggage through inches of sand and dirt since a car cannot access the road. The entire surrounding area is the same, forcing you to walk either in the sand or on rickety boardwalks. It was very difficult for 2 women traveling alone. Unfortunate since the location is close to many sites. Wait until the repair work is done to go to Bucharest, then stay at the Rembrandt.
Traveller's tip on dining
See above review on problems traveling in old section (Lipscani) of Bucharest. In the area of the Rembrandt is the famous Caru eau Bere Restaurant. Very good, not really expensive, and gorgeous. Ethnic Dancing on most nights.

Great service
The room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The staff were all extremely helpful and went out of their way to help us. Loved the lemonade available in the foyer. Staying here made for a great end to our stay in Romania.
