Good hotel but could host a VERY loud event
The hotel is centrally located and in a beautiful building. Rooms are not great but they are not bad either. I would have been happy with my stay but at the second night, the hotel hosted a wedding with loud music at least until 1pm. The hotel is small and the wedding was on the terrace, so the whole place was shaking with music and there was no way you could sleep, no matter what floor or which way you were facing. I saw several guests complaining, including us, and the receptionist just said "But its a wedding!" as if for a wedding its totally ok to disturb the guests - so I think it happens quite often. We were not warned of the event and we were not reimbursed in any way (not even a free breakfast). So if you plan to book, make sure to check there are no events or be prepared to pay lots of money for a room that you cannot really use when there are events.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Take boat trips - you will see amazing islands and bays. Also, the island is very expensive so be prepared. But its worth it! I will go back to Hvar but stay in private accomodation - nicer, quiter, cheaper and still 10 min away from the hot spots.

HORRIBLE!!! DONT GO!!!
Way too expensive for what it is. The location is amazing, very central, but the hotel needs serious renovation: there is no air conditioning!!!! very bad service, horrible rooms. The hotel is nice outside and charming, but the rest is really decadent. To avoid.

Lovely holiday shame the room was so hot
We spent four nights in the beautiful Hvar Palace Hotel. It is a wonderful old building with a fantastic restaurant and very good standard. The rooms were big enough, very nicely decorated and had a very comfortable double bed. I would definitly recommend the hotel. The only problem was that we did only have a fan and not an air conditioning in our room which meant that the room was like a sauna and only keeping the fan at highest speed during the night could bring a bit of sleep.
The hotel is located just on the harbour with plenty of clubs around you. Try out the hula hula club close to Hotel Amfora. Love the cocktails.
