Very good hotel
A lovely small hotel near the central train station in Rome. Good price for downtown Rome and gives you everything you expect from a European hotel room. The room is not overly large, pretty much as expected, but provides everything that you need. Room has a safe, bathroom has a working (though not overly powerful) hairdryer, and the towels are up to American size standards (not always typical.) Lovely continental breakfast and the desk staff was incredibly helpful.

Great Central Location
Very, very, good location. Very central. On bus route. 10 min walk to main train station, 5 mins to tube. We had big, modern, clean room. Quiet location just off main street. Loads of eat places (inc good one next door with bar) plus late night shop and low cost cafe over the road. Breakfast was a bit boring but not bad. Would go back - lots of other we met out and about complained bitterly about other hotels, so be warned!
Traveller's tip on dining
Go to Tullis resturant up from the Tritone fountain top of piaza by Barbarini Metro. Book for Fridays and Saturdays. Excellent food. Also try Colline Emiliane on Via degli Avignoniesi - moderate price always busy. Both 5 mins from trevi fountain and infinately better than tourist traps. Get a water bottle an refill at fountains to save big $$$

Recommended
Very central, can walk everywhere except perhaps Vatican City, but we did walk back! Hotel staff friendly and helpful with English! and without being obstrusive. Walking distance to lots of good reasonable bars and restaurants (Rome is an expensive city)in the back streets. Air conditioning very effective. Shower excellent and loads of hot water. Part of the charm was the entrance area, which is old and intriguing, and does not indicate the moderness of the actual hotel on the 3rd floor. Breakfast OK, but the cafe just outside does amazing coffee and croissants very cheaply and you can sit outside and eat them!! All the Italians go there on the way to work, so that says what good value it is. Would return if we were going back to Rome.
