The Midtown of Sao Paulo
If you need to stay in Faria Lima to be close to Google, Banks, etc., this is a great hotel. The restaurant selection is diverse and of high quality. It is close to the domestic airport. The people were great.
Traveller's tip
Given all of the corporate headquarters there, I was lured into thinking it was safe. I was reminded that this is a zone of laptop and other types of thefts towards the wealthy and business travelers.

out of the scene
Sao Paulo is a huge city and this hotel, although very nicely furnished and hotel staff moderately service-oriented, is in a new district and the services surrounding it are non existant. No convenience stores nearby and just to buy the basics require a US$8 taxi ride to the more active part of the district. It is also not safe to walk around this area as it is quite desolate specially at night. Also the area hosts the worst traffic jams due to it being near most of the relevant companies. So to leave or access the property during rush hours is an ordeal. Still the hotel in itself is quite nice.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Non existent except for a 5-10 minute cab ride to nearby Iguatemi Shopping area. They have also labeled this hotel as a Faria Lima district property. Not only is it not on that famed avenue but also distant by walking standards.
