Peaceful and relaxing stay
Our 5 day stay was relaxing. We had dinner in the hotel on the first night and found the food good although a little limited in choice. On the other nights we drove 5 minutes into Bowness where there are a lot of restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was buffet style which is the case with most hotels now and again we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food. Staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel has nice gardens and a pond to walk around. The only negative thing I would say about this hotel is that you get the feeling that it has generally seen better days. Although our room was clean, the bathroom was in need of redecoration and the shower was a problem as there was hardly any water pressure, little water came out the shower head. That said if you’re looking for a bit of peace and don’t mind driving in the evening to find a wider choice of food, then this hotel shouldn’t disappoint you.

Hotel was lovely
The hotel was lovely, very peaceful, which is what we were looking for. However the room was very small and cramped, it was also right on the main road, so felt we couldn’t open our window in the night as it was easy accessible from the outside.

Disappointed
Pool heater broken, sauna broken, steam room broken, jacuzzi, that can hold around 4 people full of kida from swimming lessons because the pool was too cold. Room small and dated. Ended up having to walk out, as the hotel is advertised and pictured as somewhere very comfortable and with things to offer, when it did not have any of this.
Don’t stay here.
