Very good hotel experience

The Rivoli Ramblas is a great hotel. The staff were courteous and helpful. The room was acutally larger than I expected based on my impression of European hotels. The hotel is conveniently located 1 1/2 blocks from the airport bus stop. The only negative about the room is that we were in Barcelona in late October. The weather was unusually warm and the air conditioning in the hotel was turned off making it necessary to sleep with the window open. Our room faced Las Ramblas. The noise from the street made it very difficult to sleep at night.

Take advantage of the Barcelona City Tour busses. You can purchase a multiple day pass and you can get off and back on the bus without additional charge. You can see many of the city cites easily.

Worth a return visit, for sure

Location! Location! Location! Stayed here in 2004, returned in 2009. Located right on la Rambla where all the action is. Staff is very accommodating. Front room is great public viewing, but sometimes has a lot of street noise. Back rooms are whisper quiet. Love this place!

See Underground Barcelona in the Bari Gotic. Get a two-days pass that lets you ride all 3 bus tour bus lines -- ride them all.

Adequate but not luxurious

Room was a little small, but everything was adequate once you get used to the fact that European standards are smaller and more basic than American. Conveniently located on the Ramblas. Full breakfast was included in the price which was quite a savings and there was a delightful deck on which to eat it(as well as indoor seating).
