Adequate for an overnight say on business
This hotel is fine for an overnight stay on business. Reception, breakfast area are all reasonably attractive. They lock the outer door at night. There is a ’flavour of individual dormitories’ with rooms set off old fashioned corridors, accessible via stone steps & floors. Good value for Helsinki (at 1/3 less than others that came up in a search) for a single reasonable sized room. Located in quiet, mainly residential area near the sea.

Somewhat out of the centre. Good if business being visited is in this part of Helsinki. Hotel was set up for a conference while I was there & the delegates seemed happy enough.

Ok hotel - nicely located
The hotel is low standard, and has not been renovated since the 80s (my impression). But it is clean, the breakfast is ok, and the area around the hotel with beaches and nature is quite nice. So if you are on vacation in the summer for a little partying, be together with friends and so on, this hotel is quite good. If you plan a trip in the winter, and stay much at the room, I do not recommend this hotel. It is also important to know that the hotel is about 20-30 minutes by car from the middle of Helsinki, so a taxi cost about 25-30 EUROs each way.
