a little luxury goes a long way
fantastic building in slap bang in centre of sheffield which has been restored with bags of class. room was elegant with crisp white bedlinen and very comfortable bed. front of house staff couldnt have been more helpful and polite, especially commendable on a busy saturday night. i dont stay in hotels very often (more of a tent woman), but should I ever come back to sheffield, i will certainly stay here. Only slight criticism was ensuite had no bath, as it was for wheelchairs, so sink was at knee height, but, apart from that, it was wonderful!
we got up really early on sunday morning, drove out of sheffield and within 30 mins were walking on the pennine way. walked to kinder scout, back to the nags head for a pint of best. fantastic sunday.

a little disappointed
Car park was too far away - had to drag suitcases through the centre of town - quite difficult to find but very user friendly. Rooms are quite luxurious but not enough hanging space in the wardrobe - no full length but luckily we only had trousers, not dresses! Breakfast ok, eggs well cooked, toast was sliced bread and rather soggy. Coffee not strong enough. Staff were extremely helpful; they even turned on the patio heater when we sat out on the "terrace" for cream tea. There was not anywhere to sit in comfort to wait, only the bar which is just like a cheap cafe.
Nonas italian restaurant (5 mins away in taxi) was probably the best italian meal Ive had outside Italy! Unload the car at the hotel and then go to car park.

Nice hotel in good location
This hotel was exactly what we were looking for. The room was very nice and comfortable and the hotel is in a good location (its a 10 min easy walk from the station and right in the centre of town). As the hotel was not busy, they offered to upgrade our room so we had more space for a travel cot for our baby, which was much appreciated.
We had a nice, reasonably priced breakfast at the cafe on the corner across the road
