Overall good place

Because of work in Geneva, we stayed for 2 weeks in Ferney-Voltaire at Residence La Reserve. We chose it through hotels.com because of affordability and convenience. The hotel has a bus stop within the block on the F bus line that goes into downtown Geneva with good connections. There is a pharmacy and grocery stores close by. The inhotel laundramat is adequate but limited (better than most hotels/motels in Europe though). The staff were generally helpful and most had good to strong English skills. We heard the hotel rooms had been renovated, however, the apartment we were in had not been. Nonetheless, it was basic and satisfactory, but needs the carpet replaced or cleaned (lots of spots). Staff was responsive in most cases to our needs and inquiries for information. We would definitely stay there again.

I’d it it again

This hotel/apartment is in a decent location. The room was big enough for a family of four. The AC would not get cool until I did an adjustment to the AC outside. I doubt if the hotel staff or maintenance would have know to adjust this particular knob. It’s a low cost cab ride from the airport. It’s also a low cost bus ride into Geneva. Local grocery stores and restaurant reduce the cost of the trip. Very helpful staff. I felt safe and clean. Pool was operational. A European Three-Four star.

Take a cab to the hotel. Take a bus back to the airpot. Buy the 48 hours bus and water taxi ticket. The desk will tell you how. Do not go to fancy restaurants - they are not that great - save your money for better food in a different country. NOthing special about Geneva food. Geneva was OK. Two nights and a full day and I saw all I wanted - but it was great to see Montrose and the Lake Geneva Shoreline - the only thing missing was smoke on the water.

Good hotel. Friendly staff. Lovely heated pool at back of hotel.

Pros: Very nice hotel in good location for touring surrounding areas. Friendly unintrusive staff. A very nice heated pool at the back of the hotel in pleasant garden surroundings. Apartment a good size with most required facilities. Cons: Was surprised that the room wasn’t serviced at least once while we were in it (three night stay, and we had to dispose of our own rubbish from the bins. Maybe that’s the way things are done in some French hotels. Aside from that though, a very enjoyable stay.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Use it as a base to explore surrounding areas. Geneva, Annecy, Mont Blanc to name a few.
