Whats that smell?
When I entered the hotel room, I was overwhelmed by the smell of feet. Apparently they have never heard of air fresheners. The first morning there was afire alarm at 7 AM and we were evacuated in the freezing cold until 9 AM. Then when I wanted money off of my rate, they politely refused due to the fact that it was "not their fault." The only good thing about this hotel was the price.

Days Inn Colchester
Most hotels in Burlington are over-priced, as is the case in this one. Overall, the hotel is decent (a B- ro C+), but the owners need to replace the carpeting throughout the building. Other guests complained of the smell, which comes from the old carpets and the chlorine of the indoor swimming pool. Need more ventilation on the ground (pool) floor. Location is next to St Michaels College.

This IS a 2-star hotel!
The Expedia rating was 2-star and 2-star it is! While the desk staff was friendly and helpful, the room was dusty and grungy. The bed linens were the minimum...a top sheet used as a bottom sheet and the mattress not comfy at all. If you have a child a St. Michael’s College - across the street - you can probably go with the cheap rate and be happy that you are so close to the College. If you have a child at Champlain or UVM, I’d recommend staying closer to Burlington, even if it costs you a bit more.
