A cosy autumn retreat
A very pleasant hotel with all the modern facilities. Very convenient short walk to cable car and "Ropeway" to the main scenic attractions of Hakone. Surrounding area is wooded and quiet. Key hotel staff are versed in English and very friendly.

Wonderful Experience
I stayed here with my Japanese mother (who has been in the US for 40 years) for her 75th birthday and it was fabulous. We stayed in the "deluxe tatami twin" room which was the perfect combination of East meets West. The beds were Western style (regular beds) but there was also an adjoining Japanese style room with tatami mat, traditional low table and futons you could pull out of the closet and use if you wish to sleep on the tatami (floor) Japanese style. The location is wonderful, up in the mountains, very peaceful and quiet. The only thing is the lack of choice of where to dine (just a sushi place and French place on the premises, both which were quite expensive) unless you have a car. The hotel is totally in the middle of nowhere (which I liked). Staff was unbelievably gracious and helpful. Onsen (hot spring) in spa was great. Breakfast room service is a must if you have a room with a veranda! Lovely memory for both of us.

Simply Stunning
We have just recently returned from Japan after travelling for 10 days. We stayed for 3 nights at the Hyatt and it was the highlight of our trip. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, the staff are so welcoming and hospitable. I visited the spa for a stone massage, although expensive it was fantastic. I also enjoyed the onsen bathing experience at the hotel. I loved the log fire which was lit every evening where guests would congregate for drinks which were on the house for a few hours every evening.We ate once in the restaurant and the food was heavenly, although you can get bar snacks at a lower price. The hotel is up a hill from Gora station and you can arrange a courtesy shuttle bus with the hotel prior to arrival. It is worthwhile buying a Hakone travel pass which includes the cable car and the boat to visit Mount Fuji. I can not praise this hotel enough.
