Ups and downs
This hotel is great value, but is in the middle of nowhere, and the bar shuts at 9pm (during the week, at least), so don’t expect much action! The setting is lovely though, very peaceful, and the old chateau style houses that the rooms are in a quite spectacular. Our room was quite small, but comfortable and clean, and the dinner in the hotel restaurant was good. There weren’t any tea or coffee facilities in the room and the breakfast isn’t very good value though, so would recommend taking some with you.
Traveller's tip on dining
Nearby Fontevraud is lovely, and La Licorne is the best place to eat - a really top class restaurant, perfect for a special occasion or a treat!
