Worked well for us.
It was convenient to get to the surrounding area and to the 4 mile beach, but not necessarily convenient to Port Douglas proper without a car. It was very convenient to have a small fridge and limited dinner and flatware available. The balcony was terrific as well. The hot tub was more of a jacuzzi bathtub.

Outstanding - exceeded our expectations
Stopped here overnight on return from Cape Trib to Cairns. We got a great rate on a private plunge pool room. Lovely hotel, and this room was an apartment! Cupboard with washer and dryer, a room with desk and sofa off bedroom, spacious bedroom, well equipped kitchen/diner/lounge, covered outside table and chairs and lovely small private pool area. Fantastic! Were able to extend checkout to 12 noon for free too and store our cases until later. Very friendly, very clean, fantastic. A little distant to Port Douglas though, but excellent transport links available.
Cheap hotel shuttle bus every 30 mins from hotel next door (Treetops) to Port Douglas (its about 10 mins bus ride away).

Very comfortable and a convenient location
Able to relax, swim in the pool - just pick one of six, have a nice BBQ- invites new friends to join you, catch bus to town every 15 minutes, tour buses pick up within the area. So so convenient.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Local attractions can be accessed by catching the tourist buses or local buses from the foyer out the front of the location next door. Every 15 minutes not a hassle to just get up and go. All the main attractions can be accessed this way - into town, go to Cairns or the Graet Barrier reef
