Better than I expected
I read other reviews about this hotel before I booked it. The Montefiore is located on a quiet street in the city center area of West Jerusalem. The room I stayed was well maitained, the bed was very comfortable, and there was a good choice of TV channels. Considering the location and the quality of the hotel room/services I got very good value for my money at the Montifiore.

Nice, Friendly, Well-Located, A Walk to A Car
The two people in our party stayed in a "triple" room which was supposed to be a higher level than a regular room. It was clean, comfortable, and air cond. worked well in the warm weather. But the room was quite small, so it was difficult to see what was superior about this one compared to another room. The only additional feature was the free internet, which was more, per day than the charge for internet service in a regular room. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were OK but ordinary. The location was good in the sense it was near Ben Yehudah Street, but Schatz street is a pedestrian street and there is no parking, so getting bags to the hotel from a car is a walk. I would consider staying there again, but would also consider other choices.

Not as Promised
This hotel was not at all what was represented on Expedia. The standard room did not have the beds promised. There were no toiletries or mini-bars as promised. The hotel was listed as non-smoking but the room had an ashtray and the sheets had cigarette burn holes. We booked for three people and were given a room with two twin beds! After putting another mattress on the floor there was absolutely no place to walk! The staff however, was very friendly and the location was great.
