Lonely and far
Stayed at Dusa Sands Hotel in Jan/09. Cheapest hotel available at that moment. Room was very spacey but a bit run down. Good for big family. Wanted to take shower after a long drive from KL however wanted to check-out the water heater first. Turned on the tab and tried to adjust the small water volume button. Suddenly it came off! Water was shooting at me like mad. I was screaming shocked and soaking wet! The water can’t be turned off! Tried to fight my way through the water to cover the little hole with the knob but the knob was too loose to be fixed back. After it was fixed by the hotel "plumber", we wanted to watch telly from the bed. However, no remote control. Requested from the hotel and a guy came with 2 remote controls to test. Unsuccessful, he went off and never came back..?? The good thing about this hotel was, it is just a few steps away from the beach. The beach was all for us but very windy, too cold for a good swim. Good place for playing kites though. Swimming pool was so small and has no landscape. Really not inviting at all. However at last there was an exciting thing happen! While looking out from the balcony, a big lizard was walking crawling like a thief toward our neighbor’s hotel. Cool! Took a photo of that! Well, it was a place to stay but too far from Cherating beach really.
Good place to stay if you have a big family with lots of children and with own transportation. Drive out in the morning for breakfast outside. The grill fist nearby was also good and fresh.
