Great Place to Stay in Luxor

Great location and a wonderful hotel. Garden is fantastic and the pool is great. The breakfast could be better, but the international hotel was excellent, although the service was slow. Great place to unwind after a tiring day at the ancient sites....

The best place to stay in Luxor

Although there are more glitzy hotels in Luxor, you can’t beat the environment - a quiet, modestly sized residence in a lush garden that has been managed for over a hundred years (the trees have plaques saying when they were planted!). It shares this, its pool and its eating places with the grande dame of Luxor hotels, the Winter Palace - including the Winter Palace’s 1886 restaurant, where you get gourmet food in candle-lit surroundings for little more than the price of a curry night back in UK!

Piggy Backing on the Winter Palace Hotel

This is actually an annex of the Winter Palace Hotel so many of the photos are of its much grander big sister. The staff are extremely welcoming, and usually apologetic as most guests are understandably disaapointed when they see their rooms. The rooms are tired, carpets stained, paintwork patchy, but as can use the rest of the facilities I assume most people, like me, just suck it up and put it down to experience.
