A beautiful setting but a very ordinary hotel

On the whole very clean but tatty around the edges and in need of updating. It felt very isolated and to our surprise the hotel had very limited facilities.

Traveller's tip

this really is off the tourist track and the location is isolated which forces you to relax. the town is well worth visiting .

very nice hotel

stayed at hotel in May. Hotel is excellent, very clean. My room was on the 3rd floor on the left hand side which had a view of the bay of Capo Mulini to the right and a view of Mt Etna to the left. Food is excellent and varied, but do try the local restaurants. the breakfast, although continental is plentiful and refreshing. The pool is nice and refreshing (cold). only 2 criticism, Know some Italian, as English is not spoken very well if at all, spent a week using very odd sign language. And if you don’t like Expresso coffee, your in trouble.

Traveller's tip

If you’ve hired a car, get Supercover insurance from hire company, Italian drivers are very intimidating and are a law unto themselves, the Mt Etna excursion is ok, if you can go there yourself, then do. If you like fish try local restaurants, stunning food. Best place to go is Taomorina, it is stunning. Ice Creams and Cakes are amazing.
