Not Impressed
If you want thick dust on the wood furniture and bathroom fixtures, no stoppers in the sink or bath drain, a bed too high to climb into, stale three-day-old pastries sitting out without refrigeration, and skimpy cold breakfast food, stay here. I saw the hostess when I checked in. No one was there afterward.

not what i had hoped for
this b&b was very disorganized. they didnt have a room ready for me upon arrival. in their defense, i had told them i would likely be there between 9-11pm but when i arrived at 8:45, no room. there were dead bees under the table of the room i was in and the water situation was grueling. the breakfasts were average, nothing to write home about but not terrible. one point of irritation to me was a sign on the wall next to the thermostat stated that the AC wasnt to be turned down below 68degrees. i set it to 68degrees, then upon returning from a day out found a post-it note stating that it couldnt be turned down to below 70degrees and the thermostat changed, turned off and the sign on the wall still stated 68degrees. i felt violated that someone would come into the room and micromanage the way i kept the room.

Wonderful Stay
The Bissell House is lovely, warm, inviting, gracious. It was a wonderful three days. The common rooms were very comfortable. The afternoon teas lasted until evening. The breakfasts were outstanding - different each morning. The whole stay was wonderful.
