Excellent cost x benefit
Excellent hotel at a reasonable price. My wife and I stayed at the Mandela Rhodes for only two nights. High points were: ample and completely furnished apartment; absolute care with details; excellent breakfast included in daily rate. Very satisfied. If we ever get back to Cape Town, this will be our hotel!

Mandela Rhodes is very centrally located. Easy for shopping and making connections. Very convenient.

New downtown gem
New hotel in a historic shell Great facilities staff need straining and how to find cabs but in time things will improve but a really nice set up

Just a pain
Hotel staff was cordial but not helpful. A thousand small things wrong that never should have happened. No hangers, TV with no cable, no remote, wake up calls that do not happen, no currency exchange, lack of towels, late opening for breakfast, list could go on. So individually would not ocmplain but it seemed like there was one constant thing after another. I stayed there 4 days, should have stayed only one night and left.
