Very Impressed - Kudos
Like most people I never pay much attention to customer reviews, much less write one myself but this time I had to write back. Here goes- Very classy and CLEAN hotel, great location and most importantly - people who go out of their way to make you feel taken care of. Im a guy so I normally dont care about this stuff but I believe that this was the way a 4-5 star hotel should be run, especially if you are vacationing with a female. Do it.

Was not what I expected!
I tried to work with this hotel in planning my husbands birthday celebration, but they werent super helpful. Very polite, but unwilling to do anything to "go the extra mile". They have a car service, which is nice...but they would not allow me to schedule a pick-up. I found this frustrating, since it was an integral part of the birthday surprise. I thought that they could make an exception. Lucky for me, the spa (Well-Heeled, off site) was VERY helpful and actually provided a ride for my husband back to the hotel. When I got to the floor that my room was on, there was a strong smell of sewage in the hallway. Thank goodness it did not carry into the room. The room looked nice, but the bathroom floor was filthy (as evidenced by the towel we used to mop up excess water from the shower). As a note, there is no full length mirror in the room for getting ready to go out. I reserved a daytime cabana for our gathering. There was a $450 minimum bar tab. I was assured that this meant that we would be "taken care of" and that is what I expected. I repeatedly had to go to the bar myself to order drinks and food for the group, which totaled over $800. I was really disappointed in that service. The atmosphere is really cool here, but I expected more for the money that I spent on a Premier Room and a cabana. I wouldnt stay here again. There are so many great hotels in San Diego!!!
