The Century Park is the Best in Amman
I booked my stay at the Century Park based on Expedia reviews and was delighted at how nice it was. I think it was a great deal for the price, and was well located for me- close enough to downtown for a cab ride to be not too expensive, but also within walking distance of the Swefieh shopping district where I could get a cell phone, and close enough to the airport to make a lot of sense when I returned and had a one-night stay in Amman on my way home from Cairo. The room was spotless, comfortable, had good room service, and the complimentary breakfast was fantastic, with made-to-order omelettes and a huge spread of impeccable options. The staff was sweet and accommodating and let me store my luggage when I had to travel south to Wadi Rum, and I felt completely taken care of there. Also the light in the rooms was nice. They were renovating the pool, but it wasnt an issue. If you get a back-facing room, you can look out over the whole yard, pool, and garden, instead of the parking lot, but either were fine with me and comfortable with good light. I highly recommend the Century Park.
Traveller's tip for business travellers
If you buy a pay-as-you-go cell phone in Jordan (I recommend Orange) and plan to travel on in the Middle East, be sure to stock up on extra minutes before you leave Jordan, because the Jordanian service is by far the best throughout the region and roams easily in Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt, whereas buying a new SIM card in those regions will leave you with subpar service that will terminate as soon as you leave the country.

Great Hotel
For a better price than other 4-stars in Amman, this was excellent. Very comfortable, attractive, helpful & fully English-fluent staff, and an outstanding restaurant. A few caveats: for some reason my laptop refused to connect to the wireless, but they have 2 computers that are usually free. Internet access was a little expensive. Location is not convenient, but I gather most nice hotels in Amman are not. Location is attractive, but not particularly interesting.

Nice Hotel, Good Food, Interesting Grounds
This hotel is small compared to the chain hotels in Amman but quite nice. It is located in a nice neighborhood but not exactly a "walking neighborhood." The breakfast offered was ample and generally quite good. There is an outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court on the grounds. Also, there is a restaurant in the hotel that is open during the day and into the evening. The lobby is very nice and had a piano that could be played by guests.
