Clean, comfortable bed

I needed to stay over for a family wedding as the time frame between church service and reception (at the Governor Morris) was 3 hours. Check-in was great, rep was extremely courteous.

Needs improvement

For a hotel in a somewhat upscale are, the physical features could use some updating. Although the room was comfortable and the bedding plush, the interior paint was peeling and the carpeting was dingy and felt in need of a shampooing. Bathroom lighting was dim, and mirrors too high up and far away to use- putting on makeup or doing one’s hair was challenging. HVAC system faulty, kept cycling on and off, so the room was alternately freezing or stifling, so I kept waking up cold or sweating. Front desk was OK, but not that friendly, and I found the housekeeping staff sitting around in the workout room, just looking at me. Several times I encountered hotel staff in the elevators, and I found them to be somewhat hostile, like I was in their way- one was delivering room service and I held the elevator for her to get off at her floor and she didn’t even look at me or thank me! Who’s working here, anyway? And who’s the guest? Banquet staff had the same attitude. I will not return to this hotel- was very disappointed.
