Not Impressed

We were not impressed with the hotel mainly because the reason we stayed there was because of the "free" shuttle . Turns out the "free" shuttle was in a 5 mile radius not to salem as advertised. we ended up paying substantial additional fees to go to our desired location of salem. The food prices were exhorbitant and they even charged to watch basic cable - $5.00 for a 40 minute program. We actually left after one night even though we had paid for two because it was such an unpleasant experience. would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Kept looking at the sign to see if it was really a Sheraton

This hotel is so poorly kept, they have lost the privilege of calling it a Sheraton.

Great Stay

Had a wonderful time. The room service people were very nice and responsive. The bed was ridiculously comfortable and the lounge, bar area fun. Staff was just really kind and helpful all around, especially in helping me find a shuttle to the train station. Note to my vegetarian/vegan friends: Like most hotel food, definitely not easy for the vegan, though they were happy to make me penne with vegetarian marinara sauce. Vegetarians will probably find a couple options, especially in the breakfast category.

Manage your expectations

If you are traveling to the Boston area with kids, the hotel is a good choice. The waterpark and game room are great diversions. This is very much a corporate-type hotel and would not be a great place for a romantic week-end away (it’s not plush).

Horrible hotel

Walls in rooms are made out of thin paper, I could hear the conversations in both rooms on both sides. Zero connectivity to the internet using their wireless. The amount of noise in the hotel is incredible. I left the hotel after only One day and moved to another hotel to get some sleep.

Nice Hotel

The hotel is very nice however if you are there for business you may be stuck in an elevator with a bunch of kids going to the indoor water park.

Traveller's tip for business travellers

Tell them when you book it to put your room away from the families, or on the first two floors.

Will not go back

Cleanliness of the room was fair, the elevators were dirty, and the two nights eating at the bar I had to ask for a menu and the food was not great and on top of that I had to fight the drain flies while trying to eat my food.

The water park provided a great getaway at a reasonable price

The hotel staff was friendly, the room size was ample, and the we loved the indoor water park which proved hours of fun for the entire family regardless of the weather outside.

Very Good Sheraton-Level Hotel

I had to make a reservation through Expedia at this hotel which was completely booked due to a soccer tournament and several weddings. However, the hotel and its staff were extremely accomodating in meeting my specifice room needs exactly. Great water park for smaller children--mid-teen or younger.

Fine for an overnight stay in winter

The hotel has a lot of supplemental features for the summer like golf and an aqua park. For the winter it is a little tired and fine for an overnight stay but I would not choose to stay longer in the winter.

very nice decor

The hotel was very nicely decorated, and comfortable, but the food wasn’t very good at all. Room service wasn’t cheap(never is) and the food was cold, and my salad was wilted. The coffee was the worst I had ever had. I didn’t even dare order anything else. The restaurant was a little better.

can’t wait to take kids back to water resort for winter break

room and bathroom are small. Ample amenities. close to things to do. long ride to Boston.

Avoid Until They Improve The Service

We stayed for 8 nights. I knew something was wrong when I first checked in. The Sheraton employee checking us in did not say more than one sentence to us. The pool was out of service, and that was not told to us when booking or when checking in. After I complained, we did receive a really good deal on their indoor water park (the park is fantastic and was one of the reasons we chose that hotel). However, during our stay, several glaring problems happened, including having a terrible TV, poor room service, and even housekeeping not cleaning our room one day. Their room service staff cannot understand English, and we had numerous occasions where our order was wrong. The one issue that really upset me was the day they did not clean our room. I proceeded down to the front desk where no less than 6 people were standing behind the counter. I waited patiently for five minutes (no other customer was there) and finally asked someone to help me. The girl behind the counter smirked and said "I don’t work here". I then wrote my name and room number down on a card and gave it to a Sheraton employee, asking for the hotel manager to call me (he never did). I asked a Sheraton employee to have someone fix the TV or replace it, and I was promised that would happen (it never did). Often I would have to get extra towels because housekeeping would neglect to replace them. Lastly, the crib they provided to us was filthy and not comfortable for our seven-month-old son.

Just for a night

Next to the highway, we stopped here just for 1 night on the way from Maine to Cape Cod. The double bed is good for families.

Not impressed !!!

Stayed there as they do have a new water park, however, there is a minimum of 4 tickets to buy and there were only two of us....Not good and didn’t buy! No reason given for this.Finding our room on the 2nd floor was very confusing..no numbers on the walls to show which way to go. No elevator to the second floor - there was one to that floor but only to the conference rooms. No convenient ice or vending machines. Third floor was closest but you had to take the stairs or go to the 1st floor to take the elevator to the third floor. Returning to room - take elevator to the 1st floor to then take the stairs to room on second floor. Very bland rooms. Receipt gave information for checking out at kiosks,however, could not find and was informed they do not have them... Will never stay there again and will not recommend this hotel to anyone...

The most UNRelaxing over -night ever!

Upon arrival,we were shocked to see the whole hotel under major renovations. I knew the "coco key water resort" wouldn’t be open,but was irritated that no one(from expedia or the hotel) would’nt have informed us or offered some sort of discount. There were workmen everywhere;....painting,plastering,wallpapering, tiling the floors,you name it. The noise level was through the roof!!!(as well as dust) We went down to the pool and were surprised to see a ladder in the middle of it,and workmen in the sauna "goofing off". The jacuzzi was broken! Other guests told us they had been stuck in the elevator and most people were walking around looking as horrorfied as we were. At 7:00AM the next day(a Sunday,mind you)the workmen were outside our room banging around and waking us. Also,our room was over air ducts that sounded like trailer trucks were running all night. All in all... Not a great experience and would NOT recommend this hotel. Mainly, because no staff member seemed to care how we felt.

Great service in a tired building

The employees at this hotel were very attentive, and quick to help with anything we needed, both at the desk and in the restaurant. The room was clean and in decent shape, but the public areas were worn and in need of an update.
