Small city
Orleans is a small city with the Hotel just ten minutes from the center of the town. a short walk past bars and shops and the Cathedral was easily reached. The Hotel proved to be an ideal stopping place to see the sites in the city while the car was left safely in the car park behind the hotel. Great service from the staff.
eating can vary from the posh restaurants, but my favorite is always to seek out the Greek kebab houses for a price of five to six euros you can select from a number of large plates of food, always too much to eat, always great value and service

Great deal, convenient, friendly, and clean
We arrived at 3:30. The lobby opens at 6 PM, but two very nice ladies showed up at 4:30 and checked us in. They are remodeling the common areas. The room was bright and spotless, with an excellent shower. Parking in the courtyard was 6 euros. The neighborhood is somewhat dingy, but very convenient. We would definitely stay there again.

okay overall
The rooms themselves had been remodeled but the hallways we kinds of yucky, next to be remodeled I guess. It is not as in the center of town as other hotels (then again Orleans isnt very big) but you have to walk down Rue des Carmes/Rue Porte St. Jean which at night are kind of sketchy as the hotel is kind of in the ethnic part of town and there are all these men just hanging out on the sidewalk. Would be fine if you are a couple and not a young lady. Also know that the hotel closes between 12-6pm. You can get in with a code, but dont expect to leave your luggage there at check out and come back at 2pm to get it and catch a train for example because its not possible. Free internet and bottled water was nice.
Traveller's tip on dining
rue de Bourgogne is a nice pedestrian street to walk on with cute shops and restaurants. also try Pasta Cosy, cheap, near the hotel and it fills you up and is good. also the guy is really nice. 5 rue des Carmes
