15 minute taxi ride to tourist areas.
Hotel situated on a hill so walking around is only for the fit. Taxis are reasonable and regulated. Neighborhood has restaurants, a baklava bakery and plenty of shopping within walking distance. The main tourist area (Grand Bazaar, Spice Market, mosques, etc) area about a 15 minute taxi ride.

Panoramic View of Bophorus Straits & Old Town
The views from the rooms in the Conrad were worth the price (which is high)! This is a world-class hotel in all respects. If you want an authentic Turkish experience in a typically, uniquely Turkish hotel in the heart of old Turkey, this isn’t for you. The Conrad is a thoroughly modern, very upscale hotel in the newer section of Istanbul. The only thing that reminds you that you’re in Turkey (and not some other cosmopolitan city) is the spectacular view out your window. Those unfamiliar with or unsure about traveling in Turkey would probably find this to be a comforting, luxurious place to relax between ventures into the city. It’s about a mile walk to the tram which will take you everywhere.
