Nice hotel, but not very cheap!
As a young couple staying for the first time in portugal we found the hotel pleasant but expensive. The choice of 3 pools was nice and meant you could avoid the young children who tended to stay at the hotel pool. The cliff top pool was a lovely find yet we were charged to sit on a sunbed. The hotel staff were more than friendly and the sheets were cleaned everyday. Yet, they they often began cleaning early and would wake you up. They would just come in aswell if you didn’t leave a sign on the door. The hotel was kept secure with your own pass to get in and out of gates, with a security guard on site. We didn’t use the gym or the sports facilities but they seemed to cater for all. The hotel was well located to the beach and taxis were easily accessible. Beaware though, taxi drivers often put their own tip ontop so make sure you check for the additional charge at the end. It was a nice walk into alvor, but not recommended to those who have walking difficulties. Overall, we found it was a nice hotel with friendly staff, but both algarve and the hotel were a bit over priced.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
Cheaper to dine in the centre of alvor. Supermarket on the centre is reasonably priced. Lovely fish restaurants via the harbour. Use the supermarket off the resort as its not as highly priced.
