Nice stay here with kids
We rolled in with two boys 3 and 6. Our room was ready early, and we checked in to our King room with sofa bed. The room was *HUGE*. Was room in corner of annex building, next to side road. Was very quiet. Kids loved it - tons of space. We loved the pool - wasnt the warmest, but fine for 30 min or so. ’Hot pool’ was nice. Decent breakfast setup - average at best. There is a wonderful grocery store accross the street from this hotel. It has take-out food, organic, ’natural’ grocery items, along with regular stuff. Nice bennie for this hotel, IMO. Would stay here again.
We ate at ’La Perla’ (?)pizza place. No kid menu, but the cheese pizza went over fine with our kids, and we blended in with other familes. Very nice service - waitress gave us her notepad for the kids to draw on.

Practically on the U of O campus
This hotel is right across the street from the U of O campus. If you have business there, it’s perfect because you can park easily and for free and have easy access to campus. The room was spatious and clean, with a nice little balcony overlooking a tiny creek and the park area that leads to the riverside: an excellent location for joggers. A free newspaper appears at your door every morning and there is a free bare basics continental breakfast. The room is not luxurious in any way, but it’s clean and comfortable. Our room had a broken toilet and so we had workmen in the room every day and a toilet that didn’t flush properly and this problem never really got fixed during our stay, but these things happen and we were given a small discount when we checked out.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
If you like to jog you will enjoy the riverside paths behind the hotel. They are well populated and safe and take you right downtown if you like.
