Good value for money
We have always been satisfied with our stays at the Corus. Staff courteous, hotel comfortable and a fun bar in the evenings. My only complaint is that the bar food is poor quality.

So in need of upgrading...
We checked in after 2200hrs hence too tired to do an overall close inspection. We had to check out early next day : 1/ Requested Double bed but given a family room of double and 2 single bed. (a bonus I guess) 2/ Curtain track came off easily hence need upgrading 3/ stained carpet - wished I brought my slipper ! 4/ iron board - very well used/stained conditioned (not tested) 5/ bath tub - enamel came off hence a few patches of black marked. 6/Ugly plasters repairs on the wall - very unsightly. A typical budget room. Externally the hotel looks presentable perhaps had its glorious moment. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room are all very well used. I might return if condition improves.

Better than the Travel Lodge (just)
The Hotel was easy to find and at first glance appeared to be rather grand, Th first receptionist we encountered had such a strong accent that it made it virtually impossible to understand her . The room was very large but the mattress on one of the beds had seen better days and you needed sunglasses when you went to the bathroom. Evening meals were served on a pre ordered basis at 6.30 prompt a little early for us. The biggest problem was the Kareoke on Friday night which raged on beneath our heads till 2am with the revellers finally leaving some half hour later. To be fair the hotel was clean and served a purpose and we would probably stay again it was quite close to the NEC and cheaper and more comfortable than the Travel Lodge we normally stay in.
