Hotel Center Plaza, Frankfurt
Ideal location near Frankfurt main rail station and well maintained. Just a short walk via the main rail station shopping subway in the direction of Taunus Strasse and you will see the Hotel at the top of the travelator. Good value hotel, although not the cheapest, but as Internet access is very reasonable and included as part of the service, it is suitable for business use. Breakfast is also decent, and there is a fridge which is useful. It is evident that room and bathroom facilities have been subject to a recent makeover. I did not venture out in the evening, but I know that there is a decent range of restaurants, bars and entertainment in the area, which might not appeal to everyone, but if you are looking for a central hotel at a decent price, then I would recommend a stay.

Good value, terrific staff
A good and affordable hotel with an excellent frinedly and efficient staff. The neighborhood is dodgy, located on the same street as some of the strip joints and brothels near Frankfurt’s main train station. That’s the reason for the low price though, and this hotel is an excellent choice for anyone who wants maximum value at a location very close to Frankfurt’s conference center and the nearby Hauptwache pedestrian zone.

Mixed experience, but ultimately not one I’ll repeat
On the positive side, it’s close to the trains and a lot of nice restaurants. The staff was very polite, and my bedroom itself was kept very tidy. Also, the breakfasts served downstairs were delicious. Other than that, it gets unpleasant. To start with, I arrived at 12:30, well after the appointed check-in time, but my room wasn’t ready and I had to wait over an hour to have someplace to put my bags. While the room itself was clean, there was a very pungent odor in the bathroom that attacked me every time I went in. The "queen sized" bed was actually two twin beds pressed together, with flimsy mattresses, so that if you shifted to the center, you literally sank between them. The wireless internet worked, but was painfully slow and there was no functioning Ethernet connection in the room. The bar was very poorly stocked (although the bartender himself was very helpful and friendly). Oh, and if you have kids, do not come here unless you want to explain to them the neon picture of a nude woman across the street from the entrance, because the hotel is directly adjascent to the red light district (nice view right from my hotel window). I’m sorry to be so negative, but overall, this one was a miss.
