A lovely small hotel.
A very conveniently situated and well appointed hotel - currently only 57 rooms but due to add 3 more. All staff were attentive and helpful and our welcome was good. Far better than staying in a large international chain hotel, we felt really part of the local ambience. The only tiny criticism we could make was a lack of a hook on the back of the bathroom door and the placing of the tv by the side of one of the beds, which resulted in a cricked neck! Maybe there was no power point convenient to place it at the end of the beds. But these are tiny cavils and not really worth mentioning! Breakfasts were excellent too.

Our stay here rocked!
The hotel staff were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. In a previous review about this hotel I read that the included breakfast was expensive and that there were many places close that were less expensive and just as good for breakfast. I strongly disagree with this. The breakfast was awesome. Very well run, with a multitude of selections in a pleasant atmosphere. I did not find anything anywhere near comparable near the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel. It exceeded my expectations and was very pleasant and comfortable.
I highly recommend the walking tours. They were also exceptional with good choices and very knowledgeable guides. I would also recommend using an ATM to get money. The local exchange rates were a rip off.

Good Value
A good basic hotel, with a relatively central location (10 mins leisureky walk to Potsdamer Platz) and only 5 mins walk to lots of different bus routes, enabling access across the whole city. There is a small Netto supermarket at the end of the road, which is handy as there is no tea/coffee facilities in your room. We borrowed a kettle from reception! Rooms are basic, clean and beds were comfortable. We only had a shower- I would have preferred a bath, as I like to have a relaxing soack after lots of walking about/sightseeing. The breakfast was ok and you could eat as much as you liked. It was expensive for what it was. Staff were friendly and English was widely spoken.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
buy a welcome bus/train pass (3 or 5 day). You can buy before you go and exchange your voucher at the airport. It’s only a short walk to the train station from the terminal. The whole transport system in Berlin is very easy to understand and use. The buses and train run regularly and on time, so very comfortable ans reliable. By having the ’welcome card’ (bus/train pass) you can get about easily. The welcome card also entitled you to other discounts on attractions.
