Great value and friendly
This is a great value hotel. Very stylish and in beautiful surroundings. Got a little tired of the food after a while which wasnt as wonderful as wed hoped but, based on the experience of another hotel and eating out, that seems more typical of Mauritius generally than of the hotel. Hotel was about a third or a half full which was nice. Staff were very friendly and tried hard to please. They didnt always achieve it, either through a slightly laid-back attitude (the wireless internet stopped working and hadnt been fixed when we left 3 days later) or through miscommunication. But overall, highly recommended, especially for the price. About 2 thirds of the price of another hotel we also stayed at, and nicer.
Traveller's tip
One niggle about Mauritius is that they seemed to charge everything in Euros. I live in the UK where we use a currency called Pounds, and Mauritius has its own perfectly decent currency in the Rupee. Converting to Euros (at an unknown exchange rate) and then converted again into Pounds by my bank results in too many exchanges for my liking and is a con, in my view, to create extra margin through use of a favourable Rupee to Euro rate. No thanks!

Staff, service and food was fantastic
This hotel is well appointed giving a feel of luxury. The morrocon architecture is match by some wonderful warm colours for furnishings giving a real feel of warmth. I liked it a lot.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
If you just want to relax in the sun then this is a nice small and friendly hotel. However if you like to get out and about then you will need to hire a car. The roads are good and most places are easy to get to. What is more car hire is much cheaper than exscursions.
