Nice place to stay... walking distance to Rovigno, with beautiful views of the Adriatic sea. Simple and clean!

Pleasant days in Rovinj
We enjoyed the stay in Hotel Eden and their service, such as the bicycle rental, and the closeness of excellent tennis courts. The hotel was comfortable and the breakfast fine.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Besides the old town of Rovinj, we enjoyed an organized boat trip to the nearby Lim Fjord and drove to Porec to see the beautiful Euphrasius cathedral with its fine mosaics.

Fantastic holiday location in a beautiful setting
Our family of five stayed at the Eden for a week. As our children are all adults we found the gym great; although not big, the equipment was quality and quite extensive. The garden area was terrific for catching some rays or finding a shady tree to lounge under. The indoor and outdoor pools were very salty which meant that goggles were a must if you wanted to swim. Although the breakfast was varied we found the quality was below par for hot food - scrambled eggs were like leather and fried eggs were cooked in masses of oil. As is often the problem with most big hotels, the yoghurts and cold milk for cereals is never cold but tepid which was also the case at the Eden. The other pet hate with large hotels and buffet food is the quality of the juice - it always seems watered down. Aside from the food, I would say that the Eden is a lovely hotel with great staff, facilities, cleanliness and location; close enough to the town to walk to but far enough away to be peaceful. We would definitely go back to Rovinj before it gets too commercial (now that Ryan Air flies to Pula it wont be long before pubs serving English breakfast pop up on every corner!!). For us the walks along the waters edge and also walking through the national park were idyllic. The town of Rovinj is very picturesque and unspoilt even though there are many restaurants and eateries it still retains the old world charm.
We took the day trip to Venice which was great, although you dont end up with much time there. I wouldnt recommend you do all the optional extras (gondola ride, water taxi, sightseeing, lunch, etc.) they seemed expensive and limited what little free time you have in the city.
