Great location - accommodation disappointing
As we arrived at Langbank the view across the Clyde Estuary at Dumbarton Rock was extremely picturesque and the hilly setting of the hotel itself was beautiful. As we approached the imposing building, we were excited in anticipation of staying in a country house hotel such as this, however when we were given our room key and told directions to our room, we were disappointed to find it was in a separate, adjoining block which looked like a Travelodge! The room itself was spacious but fairly basic and in need of refurb. We ordered room service and, despite the slightly rude tone of the person who answered the phone fromt he restaurant to take our order, the quality of food was excellent, and it was great value. All in all, this was an enjoyable stay, and the price paid for the room was sufficiently moderate that I have no real gripes, however I would bear in mind there is a good chance that you won’t be given a room in the nice, old part of the building.

RELAXING COUNTRY BREAK MINUTES FROM THE CITY
Good views across the river away from the noise of the city, good quality rooms, however the in room facilities could be better, no TV reception on the supplied TV.

Terrific night sleep
This is a wonderful hotel for fresh air and a great night’s sleep. Set on a golf course it also has magnificent views.

The Waterwheel in Langbank is excellent value. It’s less than 2 miles from the hotel.
