4 stars!!
We had a long weekend at the Anthony Palace in late October and it was lovely. The staff were curteous and professional in all aspects. The shuttle bus to the airport or Venice itself was a godsend and made everything easy. It was never late and if it was full another one was soon behind enabling you to spend as much time as possible in Venice. The breakfast was suberb and plenty of choice was available. The only possible downside we could see was that there was not much going on in the immediate vicinty - a bit industrial but it seemed to be an up and coming area. Having said that it is only a downside if you spend time there, personally we wanted to spend all our time in Venice with just enough time to get back, have a vino bianco and then retire for the night!!!

Very clean modern hotel.
Enjoyable stay although the heating system was a little irritating. Decent breakfast. Half hour train ride to Venice & close to station @ €1.80 pp each way but no ticket machine at Gaggio so pay on train or get tickets from hotel, best to get a train around 9am as they dont run to Venice until around 1pm again. Get return tickets from machine. Nice restaurant over the road to the left of the hotel. Plenty of shops nearby with a modern shopping mall. Worth taking the hotel shuttle to the airport @ €4pp & only 10 minutes away. Would recommend this hotel.

Expectations Too high
The building itself looks modern. The rooms and communal areas are all very spacious and clean. The facilities were great, especially the steam room with the diff shower modes. Breakfast buffet was great, eventhough we didnt get breakfast incl in our booking, they told us its free! A wide selection of cold and some hot food also. However the situation of the hotel is not great interms of location, there is a fairly big shopping centre 10 mins walk away but nothing special, not what I would go all the way to Venice for anyway. Travelling to Venice from the hotel was a bit of an effort, although the train station is about 10 mins walk away also. Its good if you get the air conditioned trains but thats not always the case and the older trains are dirty, hot and unpleasant. Since venice is a pedestrianised island the last thing you want from a day of walking around is getting stuck in a hot dirty train. The train getting back from Venice is also a little confusing as you wouldnt know which train to take unless you ask someone, we were directed to a wrong one which cost us 2 hrs getting back instead of 30 mins!! The hotel shuttle cost 4 euros one way where as the trains cost 4 euros both ways. I would definately recommend taking the hotel shuttle! The staff at the hotel seemed very nice, polite and helpful. Eventhough some may not understand english very well. I conclude that my next visit i would rather find a hotel which is located on the venice island itself.
