great location

Within walking distance of the railway station, and on a pedestrian street in the the old town. Clean and comfortable, staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast OK.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Don’t miss the altar in St Mary’s chruch in the main square. Never seen anything quite like it.

Excellent Location

This hotel is situated within the old walls of the town and only a few minutes walk from the main market square. As such it is a good base for seeing teh old town. We were there with our parents, aged 83, 76 and 72. As has been mentioned there is no lift in the hotel and quite a lot of steps. I rang the hotel and requested 2 rooms on the lowest floor available for the older members of our group which they managed to accomodate and thus there were no problems. In the summer when it is busier I can imagine that this may not be so easy to achieve and so needs to be taken into account if booking this hotel. Breakfast was good and served in the restaurant in the cellar (more steps). This is also an Italian restaurant in the evenings at which as hotel guests we got 10% discount. The rooms vary greatly in size. Our parents were in Rooms 102 and 104, which are both large and overlook the rear of the hotel, we were in 201 which overlooks the street and was a little noisy some evenings but it did not bother us at all. We had started in Room 205 which was quite small but they happily moved us so we could be nearer to look after the "olds". It is about 15 minutes walk from the station which is the cheapest way to get there from the airport PLN 6 on the train. All in all, we had a lovely stay helped by being lucky with the weather for October, and would definately recommend this hotel

Don’t miss a visit to the Salt mine. 780 steps down but we thought was really good.

Good Location

Great location for the sights, bus and train stations. Can be noisy in the evening as there is a McDonald’s opposite. Fridge in room was not functioning and no apology given.

Traval to The Salt Mines and Auschwitz on public transport - cheap and convenient
