Thartes Hotel: A world apart in Guspini!
Just spent 5 days at the Thartes Hotel and havent got anything bad to say about it, apart from its location! Guspini is not a touristic town adn there is very little to do there (even finding a restaurant is difficult) but on the positive side things are very cheap (spaghetti lobster cost me 10 Euros!) and Guspini is in a central location with easy access to the main roads connecting the Island. The nearest beach is just 20 min away and there are several to choose from. There are also many "Agriturismo" in the area if you fancy a very traditional meal. The hotel itself is very nice and quaint, the staff is very friendly and flexible (it wasnt an issue to change our room at arrival) and the food at the restaurant is top quality (though pricey, specially taking into account the area). Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel providing that you have a car to visit other towns/places in the South of Island.
Traveller's tip on dining
Il Sopro di Vento in Argos: Traditional italian restaurant at a top of a hill (on the entrance to Argos), very good value for money. Spaghetti Lobster is 10 Euros and really delicious! Pistis is the nearest beach, about 20 min away by car. Casa Marmita (Agritourism): Very friendly environment, lovely food and wine, just 25 Euros per person!

Lovely but remote
Great hotel but to be honest we couldnt understand why it had been built in such a remote area. Theres nothing much to see or do for miles-and Guispini itself has no decent restaurants or shops to speak of. If you are happy with pool/bar/restaurant type holiday and dont wish anything else then this would be perfect-otherwise it is really too far from anything.
Only suitable if you are happy to stay largely on site. Beaches too far and too difficult to get to on a regular basis...though they are lovely if you do bother.

What a fabulous hotel!
This hotel is without doubt, one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed in. The room was immaculate and luxurious, the main hotel and gardens were thoughtfully designed and beautifully kept and the restaurant and the food was 1st class. Most significantly though, the hotel and restaurant staff were welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. We will definitely be going back next year!
Visit Sardinia in November. You still get the sun and the beautiful scenery but without the hassle of being swamped by other tourists.
