Beautiful, romantic, beachfront retreat
We loved the Arenas Del Mar. Beautiful location. Great ocean views from rooms. Lush setting with monkeys and sloths. Very friendly service and good food in both restaurants. You can walk down the beach to Manuel Antonio Park. Would love to return.
Traveller's tip
If you have an outside refrigerator be sure to lock it up or the raccoons and the monkeys have a party!!

Great resort
Nice semi-private beach. Very very friendly staff and good food and drinks. "Superior rooms" are a bit small, but have a nice deck, and we spent all our time outside anyway. Plenty of monkeys, sloths, crabs, iguanas, etc to be seen right on the hotel property. Even saw a toucan one morning.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Make sure you get out of the resort and enjoy local culture. Cheapest way is to walk 10 minutes down the beach to Manuel Antonio and take the bus to Quepos for 40 cents or so.

Outstanding Costa Rican Jungle Resort
Nestled in a hillside above two very private, quiet and absolutely gorgeous beaches, the Arenas Del Mar exceeded all our expectations. For what would certainly rate as a five-star resort, the food and beverage prices were very reasonable and the service staff was extremely friendly and courteous. We rated the Arenas Del Mar as falling in our "top-10" all time favorite resorts weve stayed in throughout the US, Europe and the Carribean. The on-premises wildlife and birds were amazing. Truly an outstanding resort!
